Just Passing Time . . . And Gas

I was hoping to have good news for you all today of our homecoming, but alas, we have to keep waiting! The doctor came in this morning and asked Yumi what she ate yesterday. Turned out it wasn't enough to go home on. They are going to lower the IV nutrition to about half today and she has to try to eat enough calories. The doctor said "late Monday or more likely, late Tuesday you can go home." So we are going to keep track today of what Yumi eats and drinks. She was to wait at least 1/2 hour if she is having pain to ask for the narcotics. It probably is just gas pain trying to make its way through her body. She said to try to let the pain just pass on its own or she can take simethicone. They would also like to see her have a BM before we go home.

So, although this is not what we were hoping for, I am glad that the Team is being cautious. I'd hate to end up back here before the weekend if we had gone home.

Today I'm going to have to run to Barnes and Noble to get a new book! I have 2 and 3 of a trilogy but need to go buy the first one if I am to get through the next couple of days. Last week we only had one visitor so the week went very slowly. We need to stay occupied and entertained. I am also, regrettably, addicted to Sudoku. I have a little pocket size book that I keep by my bed and I even TIME MYSELF! That's an addiction right there!

Hi again. Medical adventures was a good title for this this blog, because it has been quite exactly that, an adventure, for you guys! It sounds like the end is in sight, so that's a good thing.

I have another joke for you.

A Special Find

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, and looked at the old pages as he turned them.

Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible, and he picked it up and looked at it closely.
It was an old leaf from a tree that had been pressed in between the pages.

"Momma, look what I found," the boy called out.

"What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked.

With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered: "I think it's Adam's suit!"

Hehe he... that tickled my funny bone.

Love to you both,

Jodi

I love Sudoku, too. I have, like, 3 different books that I keep losing and finding. I also do the one in the newspaper when I remember. If I do a few days in a row, then I can do the hard ones they publish later in the week. Otherwise, I can be a bit rubbish.

Yumi, We are sure hoping you come home this week. We're coming to the cabin Tuesday or Wednesday so if you feel like exploring the beach give us a call.
