Here we are, once again, at Seattle Children's Hospital. Yumi was admitted last night around 11:30 for another bowel obstruction, her second since her surgery in April, and her sixth since the "big one" in March. Last time we went in, the doctors were not clear on why she had another so soon after surgery, but were thinking it was just a fluke. She had gone over a month without an obstruction so things were looking up for her! I'm still hopeful that in the very least, she won't have them as often as she used to (2-4 times a month).

So right now she has an NG tube through her nose decompressing the bowels and an IV. I did request that when this IV goes bad we would like a central line put in. In the past, Yumi goes through IVs fairly quickly once they start the nutrition through her veins. She is still having pain and is still on the dilaudid (sp?) and also zothran for nausea. So far she has not vomited.

We thank you for your prayers and specifically ask for prayer that this will not bring her down. So far she has weathered the poking and prodding pretty well, but it can wear on anyone. It is a setback that she has had another obstruction and that this is not going to be a "thing of the past" as we had hoped. Also, please pray that childcare would be covered for Danielle and Everett. So far we have Monday covered and I have someone from Yumi's school trying to find people for the rest of the week. But, praise the Lord for His grace and mercy on us! Things could definitely be worse!

Yumi,

I am so sorry to hear that you are in the hospital again. I can immagine that it's getting a bit old!! But I want you to remember that God has a reason for allowing you to experience this trial. Even though it stinks and you have no idea what God is trying to accomplish, He knows, and we need to keep on trusting Him. You will definitely be in my prayers!

Love, Mrs. Davison
